High school and preparatory music school
Students enroll in music high school based on the results of the entrance exam. Students who have successfully completed primary music education or the second preparatory class of secondary music school and successfully passed the entrance exam or audition are enrolled in the first grade of high school. Students may enroll in music high school programs in addition to another educational program.
Students up to the age of 17 and up to the age of 18 have the right to enroll in music high school. Exceptionally for the profession of musician female singer, students up to the age of 22, and for the profession of musician male singer up to the age of 24.
We believe that education should be approached individually. Each student should have the opportunity to learn at their own pace. Individual approach encourages passion for music and engages students to participate more actively in the learning process.
We provide our students the opportunity to perform in concert halls in Zagreb and the surrounding area, and to participate in seminars and workshops with foreign and Croatian experts, musicians, educators and directors who work and collaborate with the largest orchestras and opera houses in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Staatsoper in Vienna and the Berlin Philharmonic and the Opera of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, among others.
As part of the high school program, the school provides instruction for the following professions:
1. Instrumentalist musician:
- Piano
- Guitar
- Violin
- Cello
- Saxophone
- Flute
- Accordion
2. Musician solo singer
3. Musician theoretical direction
Classes are held in the premises of the Institute of Music and Creative Industries in Zagreb, at Ljubijska 82, and in the Regional Department in Novalja, at Ulica Matice hrvatske 9.
