Canto
The Institute of Music and Creative Industries organizes international seminars and workshops with world-renowned musicians, educators and directors.
In July 2015, the Institute of Music and Creative Industries brought to Zagreb for the first time an international program for opera singers, CANTO, which brings together professors and musicians from some of the largest opera houses in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Teatro Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Covent Garden in London.
Canto Vocal Programs consists of a group of professionals from prestigious world opera houses, who gather to provide young singers with a special summer program. Members of the Canto Group are long-time colleagues and performers, but also talented teachers and coaches.
The long experience of Canto professionals working with singers in many vocal programs has led them to believe that having a small set of teachers focused on key areas of vocal technique, musical style and expression, language and dramatic interpretation leads to sustainable, long-term improvement.
Canto’s mission is to make the highest quality vocal training programs accessible to ambitious singers.
Canto workshops are held every summer and throughout the school year. As part of the workshops, gala concerts are held in the atrium of Klović’s palace.
